Questions
Vanuatu citizenship questions and answers
Short and to the point: money, timing, family, documents, travel and legality.
Cost
How much does Vanuatu citizenship cost?
For one person, $130 000 under the contribution programme plus a $5 000 due diligence fee. For a family of up to four, the fund at $157 000 plus an $8 000 fee, with $50 000 of it returned after 5 years. The calculator shows the exact amount for your family.
Which programme is better?
For one person, the contribution programme. A couple should decide whether they are ready to leave $50 000 in the fund for 5 years. For a family of three to five the fund is cheaper from the start, for six to eight people it is better once the share is returned, and for a larger family the contribution programme wins.
What else will I have to pay?
On top of the contribution and fee: translations and certification, Vanuatu citizen documents, biometrics and passport, bank charges. The quote shows each as a separate line. There are no other payments.
Why is it cheaper elsewhere?
The state sets the contribution and it is the same for everyone. Compare line by line: how many people, which programme, what the amount includes, who completes the forms, where biometrics happen.
Is money returned if I am refused?
The due diligence fee is not returned: it pays for the check itself. The rest is returned under the programme rules and the contract. That is why we check the family in advance and resolve questions before filing.
Timing and travel
How long does it take?
Usually 2 months, 3 at most. A holiday in the middle of the process and a slow transfer make it longer, so we check the payment route before the contract and gather documents and signatures before you leave.
Do I need to fly to Vanuatu?
No. The oath is taken online by video. Biometrics are in Moscow, St Petersburg, or with an officer visiting your home, office or hotel.
Do I need to live in Vanuatu?
No, neither before nor after receiving citizenship.
Can it be done by power of attorney?
No power of attorney is involved in this process. We do almost all the work: completing forms, translating, marking where to sign and checking before sending. You sign yourself.
Family
Who can join the application?
The whole family: spouse, children, adult children including those over 25, and parents. We arrange the terms individually and show the amount in the quote.
My son is 19. Can he join?
Yes, a child aged 18-25 can join if studying full-time, without their own income and not married. We need a certificate of study and proof of dependence.
My wife does not work. Is that a problem?
No. A certificate from a non-profit organisation works if she helps there. If not, we will suggest how else to confirm it.
What if a child is born during the process?
We add the child to your family's application and get it done before the oath and biometrics. Any extra payment follows the official table; in the fund a family of up to four pays one amount. Our work costs $2 500.
What if a child is born after citizenship?
The child is a Vanuatu citizen by birth if at least one parent is already a citizen on the date of birth. We arrange the documents and passport: our work costs $5 000, and state fees and biometrics follow official invoices.
Does a new spouse get citizenship automatically?
No, a separate application is filed. We handle that as well.
Documents and checks
Who goes through the FIU check?
The main applicant: background and source of funds. A police certificate is needed from all participants aged 18 and over.
Why show the source of funds?
Proof is mandatory for every application. Tell us where your main funds come from, and we will suggest which documents suit you.
Who sees my documents?
Only those handling your application, and Vanuatu's state authorities during the check.
What does the preliminary check cover?
Sanctions lists, open databases, court records and source of funds. Within 1-2 business days we give a conclusion: clear, a question we will close with an explanation, or high risk.
Passport and travel
How long is the passport valid?
Adults 10 years, children 5 years. It is best to apply for a new one a few months before expiry, and we will remind you.
Can I enter Europe without a visa?
There is no visa-free access to Europe at present. We can help you get a Schengen visa for trips. If you need to live in Europe, it is easier to arrange residence in Greece or Hungary straight away.
Where can I go without a visa in advance?
85 destinations: 49 visa-free, 7 with an electronic authorisation, 29 with a visa on arrival, including Hong Kong and Singapore. You can check your country on the Benefits page. With Greek residence 119 destinations are open, and 158 together with a Russian passport. Entry conditions vary by country.
What if I lose my passport?
You do not lose your citizenship. Report it to the police, get a certificate and write to us straight away. Do not use the lost passport again, even if you find it. We arrange the replacement.
Legality and rumours
Is this legal?
Yes. It is a state programme under the Vanuatu citizenship law. The country's authorities check every application and the immigration service issues the passport.
Why can I not apply directly?
Applications can only be filed through an authorised programme representative. We do this work, and our work is included in the programme cost. We handle filing and correspondence with Vanuatu under a contract with you.
Will the programme be closed?
In the first half of 2026 the programme brought Vanuatu about 39% of its budget revenue. In 2025 parliament tightened oversight rather than closing it. Citizenship already granted is for life and passes to children.
Can citizenship be taken away?
It is revoked for deception in the application, a breach of law when it was granted, or a court sentence of 10 years or more. A fully checked application with accurate data protects you.
Do you guarantee the result?
The Commission makes the decision, so nobody can guarantee approval. We check the family in advance against the same databases Vanuatu uses, and we take on complex cases, including after refusals in other programmes: we work out the reason and resolve questions before filing.
