A biometric passport for 10 years
A child's passport is issued for 5 years. An expired passport does not end your citizenship: you simply get a new one.

What to know before you decide
Schengen and the UK
There is no visa-free access at present. We help arrange a Schengen visa for trips to Europe. If you need to live in Europe, it is easier to arrange residence in Greece or Hungary straight away.
Taxes
A passport does not change your taxes by itself. You pay them where you are tax resident. Vanuatu itself has 15% VAT.
Banks
The bank decides on an account. Documents that have passed Vanuatu's checks work in your favour, and we help with opening an account.
Voting
Citizens by investment do not vote or hold public office. This does not affect travel, residence or banking.

How long is the passport valid?
Adults 10 years, children 5 years. It is best to apply for a new one a few months before expiry, and we will remind you.
Can I enter Europe without a visa?
There is no visa-free access to Europe at present. We can help you get a Schengen visa for trips. If you need to live in Europe, it is easier to arrange residence in Greece or Hungary straight away.

85 destinations: 49 visa-free, 7 with an electronic authorisation, 29 with a visa on arrival, including Hong Kong and Singapore. You can check your country on the Benefits page. With Greek residence 119 destinations are open, and 158 together with a Russian passport. Entry conditions vary by country.
What if I lose my passport?
You do not lose your citizenship. Report it to the police, get a certificate and write to us straight away. Do not use the lost passport again, even if you find it. We arrange the replacement.
